AREA OBITUARIES – Judy Cagle Powell

Judy Cagle Powell, age 82, of Hickman, Ky., passed away Tues., Sept. 29, 2026, at Obion County Nursing Home in Union City, Tenn.
She was born July 11, 1944, in Hickman, to the late James “Friday” Cagle and Marie Simmons Cagle.
Judy was a longtime member of West Hickman Baptist Church. She proudly served her community as Mayor of Hickman for two terms and as a City Commissioner for one term. She also worked as a secretary for Carborundum in Hickman.
She is survived by her nephews, Jim (Debbie) Clack, of Leitchfield, Ky., Jeff (Becky) Clack, of Alvaton, Ky., and Tommy (Renee)Ramsey, of Murray, Ky.; two nieces; Carol (Joey) Parker, of Hickman, and Lisa (Kevin) McClure, of Martin, Tenn.; a sister-in- law, Martha Ramsey, of Hickman; a step-son, Johnathan (Tiffany) Powell, of Indianapolis, Ind.; two stepdaughters, Rosemary Reese, of Union City, and Diana Powell; and step-grandchildren, Sterling, Aiden, Reid, and Virginia Powell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Powell; one sister, Jeanette Clack; and one brother, William “Bill” Ramsey.
Judy will be remembered for her dedication to her community, her service to others, and the lasting impact she made on the lives of those who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thurs., Oct. 1 at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel, in Hickman, with Bro. Jason Sipes officiating. Burial will follow in the Hickman City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Hickman from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.
