FHS Lady Bulldogs open season with win over South Fulton

The Fulton City Lady Bulldogs got their volleyball season off to a winning start Mon., Aug. 17, defeating the South Fulton Lady Red Devils 3-1 in a back-and-forth season opener.
Under new head coach Kenzee Hannon and assistant coach Jasmine French, the Lady Bulldogs came out strong in the opening set, taking a 25-20 victory and an early 1-0 lead.
South Fulton, led by head coach Chad Malray, answered in the second set. The Lady Red Devils played with determination and evened the match with a 25-13 win, sending the teams into the third set tied at one apiece.
Fulton City regained control in the third set, using a strong performance to pull ahead with a 25-18 victory. The win gave the Lady Bulldogs a 2-1 advantage heading into the fourth set.
South Fulton continued to battle in the final set, but Fulton City was able to finish the job. The Lady Bulldogs held on for a 25-22 win in the fourth set, securing the 3-1 victory and opening the season on a high note.
The Lady Red Devils showed plenty of fight throughout the match, but the Lady Bulldogs' ability to regain momentum after dropping the second set proved to be the difference as Fulton City came away with the season-opening win.
