AREA OBITUARIES — Angela Jean Strickland Mayhugh

Angela Jean Strickland Mayhugh, a long-time resident of Clinton, Ky., and a current resident of Georgetown, S.C., passed away on May 1, 2026, at her residence, one day shy of her 43rd birthday.
Angie was born on May 2, 1983, in Greenville, S.C. She graduated high school in South Fulton, Tenn., and went on to receive her certificate in cosmetology. But Angie was not just a hairdresser, she was a true artist in her industry and highly respected by her peers. She also had a passion for billiards and played on state sanctioned leagues.
Angie is survived by her beloved canines, Boss Man, a Bully and her chihuahua, Itty Billy; her mother, Kimberly E. (Tommy) Via, of Clinton, Ky.; father Albert (Shelia) Strickland and half-brother, Aaron (Shelby) Strickland, all of Anderson, S.C.; a step-sister, Melissa Via Mercer, of Tampa, Fla.; aunts, Annette (Derek) Bridges, of Anderson, S.C, and Patsy (Glen) Bradt, of Clinton, Ky.; cousins, Kyle (Jessica) Bridges, of Simpsonville, S.C., Everlynn Elliott, of Anderson, S.C., Magen, Maddie and Mary Kate Mercer, all of Tampa, Fla., and Cliff (Kelly) Mayer, of Georgetown, S.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Mayhugh, of Paducah, Ky.; her grandparents, Douglas C. Elliott and Annie Cooper Elliott, and an uncle, Mark Elliott, all of Simpsonville, S.C.
A celebration of Angie's life will be held at 7 p.m. Fri., May 29, 2026 at the Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Fulton, Ky. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the hour of service.
