Betty Jean Bruner passed away May 6, 2026 at the Jackson Madison County Hospital, in Jackson, Tenn.
She was born Oct. 22, 1946 in Fulton County Ky., to the late W. Floyd Roberson and Iola Roberts Roberson.
Betty was a resident of the Ruthville Community, having lived most of her life in this area.
She served as secretary for the Weakly County Co-Op in Martin, Tenn., and was a member of Ruthville Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Bruner, with whom she shared two children, Keven "Michelle" Bruner of Martin, Tn., and Kelly "Mitzi" Bruner of Obion, Tenn; four grandchildren, Grace "Brant" Luker, of Lexington, Tenn., Emma Bruner, of Martin, Tenn., Kaleb "Emmalee" Bruner, of Troy, Tenn., and Adam "Emma Douglas" Bruner, of Newbern, Tenn.; siblings, Sue (Bill) Stewart, of Martin, Tenn., Janice (Donnie) Lee, of Sidonia, Tenn., Juanita (Pete) Buchanan, of Springville, Tenn., and Shirley Burnes, of Paris, Tenn.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Lois Grissom.
Betty was a member of the Red Hat Society of Fulton, and thoroughly enjoyed her family, friends, and fellow church members, and her faithful K-9 Rudy, held a special place in her heart. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Services for will be held Sat., May 9 at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., with the funeral service to begin at 1:00 p.m. Bro. Scott Williams and Bro. Lowell Riley will officiate. Interment to follow at Sandy Branch Cemetery.
