AREA OBITUARIES – James Edward Griffith

James Edward Griffith, age 88, of Hickman, Ky., passed away Thurs.,, Sept. 11, 2025 at the Fulton Nursing and Rehab in Fulton, Ky.
He was born on April 14, 1937 in Nashville, Tenn., to the late Waymon Griffith and Hattie Modine Fife.
James was a member of the West Hickman Baptist Church and was a retired farmer. He lived all of his life in this area.
He is survived by a son, Tony (Tami) Griffith of Fulton, Ky.; two daughters, Mary K. (Glen) Jones, of Clarksville, Tenn., and Betty Shields, of Hickman, Ky.; five grandchildren, Tony Lynn (Ashley) Griffith, of Cayce, Ky., Nick (Ivy) Prather of St Mary's, Ohio, Nancy (Wes) Carr, of Martin, Tenn. and , Bobby Dale Griffith; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Mae Sutton Griffith; two sons, Waymon Dale Griffith and James E. "Buster" Griffith Jr.; a daughter, Nancy Marie Griffith; a grandson, James Albert Griffith; nine sisters; and four brothers.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Sat., Sept. 13, 2025 in the Mt Olive Cemetery in the Crystal Community. No visitation was held and friends were asked to meet at the cemetery at the hour of service.
