South Fulton High School Head Football Coach Eric Knott announces departure

South Fulton Middle and High School announced April 22 that Head Football Coach Eric Knott has made the decision to step down from his role. Coach Knott will be joining Milan High School as their new defensive coordinator.
Reflecting on his time in South Fulton, Knott shared, “My time here has been outstanding. I’ve enjoyed every single second of it. Everybody has embraced my family and me as part of this community, and it was a difficult decision, but I will be leaving South Fulton and going to be the defensive coordinator at Milan High School.”
Since arriving at SFMHS, Knott has made a lasting impact both on and off the field. Principal Laura Pitts praised his dedication:
“Eric Knott is not only a great coach but also a remarkable individual who genuinely cares about the well-being and success of his students.
Coach Knott consistently goes out of his way to support and mentor his students, both on and off the field. His dedication to their academic and personal growth is truly inspiring. He encourages his players to excel in their studies, understanding the importance of a balanced approach to academics and athletics. His collaboration with faculty members ensures that students receive comprehensive support, fostering an environment where academic achievement is highly valued.
We were incredibly fortunate to have him and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.”
Assistant Principal JB Suiter echoed that sentiment:
“I have had the privilege of witnessing Coach Knott lead our football team with unwavering dedication and passion. His commitment to our students and the sport has been truly inspiring. While we are saddened to see him step down, we are immensely grateful for the positive impact he has made on our school community. Coach Knott will always be remembered for his exceptional leadership and the countless lives he has touched. He truly will be missed. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors.”
Obion County Schools expresses its deepest gratitude to Coach Knott for his leadership and service to the Red Devil football program and the South Fulton community.
