Medical cannabis vote ‘Yes’ in Hickman

Medicinal cannabis related businesses will now be allowed to locate in the City of Hickman, following a question to Hickman's voters included on Tuesday's ballot, to allow or not allow the business model. There were 347 votes yes, to allow, and 190 votes no. The Hickman City Commission made the decision previously when the question arose, to let voters make the decision. 

Fulton Countians also cast votes on two Constitutional Amendments, Amendment 1 regarding the prohibiting of persons who are not U.S. citizens to be allowed to vote in the Commonwealth. There were 1277 yes votes cast and 697 no votes cast in Fulton County.

Constitutional Amendment 2, in regard to allowing the General Assembly to provide financial support for the education of students outside the system of common schools, received 736 yes votes from Fulton Countians and 1279 no votes. 

In the Nov. 5 General Election, Fulton County voters chose Republican Donald J. Trump and his running mate JD Vance, for President and Vice President, respectively with 1491 votes received.

Democrat Presidential candidate Kamala D. Harris and her Vice-Presidential running mate Tim Walz received 636 votes from Fulton Countians.

Independent Robert F. Kennedy and Nicole Shanahan, in their Presidential and Vice-Presidential bids, respectively received 12 votes. Chase Oliver and Mike Ter Maat received 3 Fulton County votes, Jill Stein and Samson Kpadenou received 2 votes and Shiva Ayyadurai and Crystal Ellis received 1 vote in Fulton County in the Presidential and Vice-Presidential race. 

James Comer, R, received 1489 votes for U.S. Representative in Congress, 1st Congressional District and opponent Erin Marshall, a Democrat, received 630 Fulton County votes.

Jason G. Howell received 1655 votes for State Senator, 1st Senatorial District, and Republican Steven Jack Rudy received 1468 votes for State Representative in Fulton County over his opponent, Fredrick Fountain, a Democrat, who received 638 votes.

Michael B. Stacy, an Independent candidate for Commonwealth Attorney for the 1st Judicial Circuit, received 1355 Fulton County votes, and Jaime Mathews, a Democrat, received 1516 votes for Circuit Clerk, both candidates unopposed. 

Lisa Payne Jones received 951 Fulton County votes for Judge of the Court of Appeals, 1st Appellate District, 2nd Division, over Jason Shea Fleming, who received 464 Fulton County votes.

Jana L. Turner, in her bid unopposed for 3rd Educational District, Fulton County School Board, received 283 votes and Brian Emmons, 5th Educational District, Fulton County School Board, was unopposed and received 140 votes.

In the race for two seats on the Fulton Independent School Board, Janet Gossum received 470 votes, Karen Worley Dean, 417 votes and write-in candidate Rea Jones, 88 votes.

In the Fulton City Commission race, Jeff Vaughn received 433 votes, Darcy Linn, 382, Elaine Forrester, 381 and Kevin Kelley, 291, with Linn, Vaughn and Forrester returning to the commission, with Kelley elected to the commission for the first time. 

In the Hickman City Commission race, Richard Holloway received 422 votes, John Wiley Gannon, 291, Robert Griggs, 284, and Robin Amberg, 267. All candidates return to their seats in office.
