INTERIM SUPERINTENDENT CHOSEN FOR FULTON INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT

Following action taken at the special called session of the Fulton Independent School District Board of Education meeting June 25, with the board having conducted interviews with two potential Interim Superintendent candidates, an offer was made to one of the candidates.

Board members Carol Bransford, Chair, Debbie Vaughn, Rea Jones and Christy Pettigrew were present in person, with board member Austin Ferrell present through electronic access to the June 25 meeting.

An offer was extended to, and accepted by Heath Cartwright, to serve as Interim Superintendent of the District effective July 1, 2024. Cartwright is a graduate of Fulton Independent School and currently resides in Paducah.

A committee has now been formed to begin the search for a new Superintendent, after the resignation of Jeff Rogers, effective June 30, was submitted to the board.
