FULTON ELECTRIC SYSTEM REQUESTS REDUCED POWER USAGE FULTON ELECTRIC SYSTEM REQUESTS REDUCED POWER USAGE

Due to the continued increased demand for the electric system caused by the extremely
cold temperatures, Fulton Electric System is asking customers to voluntarily reduce any
non-essential electricity usage until further notice. Thank you for your cooperation.
Here are some quick and easy ways to conserve energy and save you money:
 Lower your thermostat to about 68 degrees Fahrenheit. Every degree you turn down
your thermostat saves you approximately 3% on your electric bill.
 Set your ceiling fan to spin clockwise, which pushes warm air down.
 Wear additional layers and bundle up to stay warm.
 Turn off everything when you leave a room.
 Open window coverings on the sunny side of your home. Close them overnight to
retain that heat.
 Delay using washing machines, dryers, dishwashers and other large appliances
until the warmest part of the day when overall heating demand is lower.
